Spy Ad Campaign

Louie Vito, this dude has like 120 sponsors, he even has a car stereo sponsor, forildo…
So we flew to Salt Lake City to shoot the 2008 Ad Campaign for Spy Optics, and discovered that Salt Lake City is pretty dope, downtown is really mellow and seems deserted.
They have this outdoor mall that is flooded with kids and longboardnerds. They have so many Churches and Temples, they are crazy big, very nice buildings. Our mission was to shoot lifestyles with Darrell Mathes, Louie Vito, Marc Frank Montoya, Stevie Bell, Eric Christensen and Europe rider iouri “Ipod” Podladtchikov. Poor Iouri, he’s from Russia or Switzerland or Sweeden or something, but that’s not why I said “poor him”, the door to his hotel room didn’t close properly and some dirtbag broke into his room and stole his cellphone, passport and some pieces of clothing. Iouri was bummed but did seem to get very concerned until the very last day, before he had to fly to Vermont to the US Open.
It was fun meeting the guys, we got to hang out a bunch with Louie and Stevie they are a trip to chill with. Shooting and hanging with MFM was pretty sick also, he’s rad and pretty gangsta. We got a ride in his Land Rover, which he uses to tow a trailer with 2 sleds on it. It’s a pretty dope ride and after chilling in it with the music going (and for some reason all lights on) the battery died. So we had to get this cowboy dude to give us a boost. For a $100,000 vehicle I’d expect the battery to last a little longer than that.
Anyways, we got to do the photo shoots, go out for some dope dinners, shredded Park City, picked up new slang (thanks Stevie), checked out the massive O’gio warehouse and private skatepark and had some spare time to kick it. Look out for the ads in next seasons snowboard magazines….
